On April 28, 2025, the grand opening ceremony of Chongqing Tuoyu Coatings Co., Ltd. was held with great fanfare in Shuijiang, Nanchuan, Chongqing. Representatives from the Nanchuan District Government, the China National Coatings Industry Association, local coatings associations, industry partners, and friends from all walks of life gathered together to jointly witness this momentous occasion—the official launch of Tuoyu Coatings into full-scale production.

Representatives from the Nanchuan District Government, the China Coatings Industry Association, local coatings associations, industry partners, and friends from all walks of life gathered together to jointly witness this momentous occasion—the official launch of Tuoyu Coatings into full-scale production.
The event was themed “Paving the Way Forward—Standing Out from the Crowd.” Through segments including performances of intangible cultural heritage, remarks by leaders, and the launch of new production lines, the event showcased Tuoyu Paint’s commitment to taking root in Nanchuan and deeply cultivating the industry, as well as the confidence of the CPPCC, enterprises, and government working together to drive industrial development and upgrading. The opening performance featuring Ba-Yu intangible cultural heritage set the tone for a bold and pioneering spirit as we move forward.
The celebration kicked off to the rousing melodies of the national-level intangible cultural heritage, “Chuanjiang Huaizi.” The performers recreated the heroic scene of boatmen struggling upstream with their earth-shaking chants, a tribute both to Nanchuan’s regional spirit—“the soul of the mountains and the charm of the waters”—and perfectly aligned with Tuoyu Paint’s development philosophy: “Building quality with the steadfastness of the mountains and fostering innovation through the fluidity of water.” Leveraging the experience and accumulated expertise of its sister company, Yilong Paint, Tuoyu Paint is poised for takeoff and boldly embarks on a new journey.

Mr. Chen Yun, Chairman of Tuoyu Coatings, looked back on the company’s 24-year journey—from a “small local boat” to an “industry-leading vessel”—and frankly admitted that “every step was soaked in sweat.” He especially expressed gratitude for the thoughtful services provided by the Nanchuan government and the attentive guidance from industry associations, emphasizing the three core advantages of the new factory:

“The future is no longer about going it alone; instead, it’s about aligning with local development and resonating with industry trends,” said Mr. Chen Yun, Chairman. Tuoyu will take its grand opening as a new starting point to write a fresh chapter for “Made in Chongqing” coatings.
Vice District Mayor Jin Qiang: New Industrial Opportunities for Nanchuan in the Era of Strategic Synergy—The Shuijiang Cluster Emerges as a Shining “Spokesperson.”
In his speech, Jin Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the NanChuan District Committee and Deputy District Mayor of Chongqing Municipality, pointed out that Chongqing is now benefiting from the convergence of national-level strategies such as the “New Era Western Development” and the “Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.” As an important hub for Chongqing’s industrial transformation and upgrading, NanChuan has accelerated its metamorphosis from traditional manufacturing toward “digitalization, green development, and intelligentization.” Addressing Tuoyu Coatings, Comrade Jin Qiang expressed his hope that the company would fully leverage its advantages in technological innovation, deeply integrate upstream and downstream resources across the industrial chain, strengthen regional industrial collaboration, and, by setting a high standard, become a “shining spokesperson” for NanChuan’s industry, injecting strong momentum into the region’s economic development.

Liu Jie, Secretary-General of the China Coatings Industry Association, expressed high hopes for Tuoyu from an industry-wide perspective: “We hope that, supported by the technological R&D capabilities and intelligent manufacturing of your new factory, you will put into practice the philosophy of ‘quality first, green development paramount.’ Under the Association’s framework of ‘serving the industry and leading innovation,’ may you become a benchmark enterprise driving the upgrading of the coatings industry in western China.”
Highlights of the commissioning ceremony: a blend of tradition and modernity, with vision and practical action going hand in hand.
The “Lion’s Eyes” Ceremony: Chairman Chen Yun and Executive Director Gong Weiqi applied the final touch to the auspicious lion, saying, “One dot heralds a bright future; two dots ensure smooth business paths.” Through this traditional folk ritual, they prayed for the company’s soaring success and for years of good fortune and prosperity.
The Inaugural Ceremony for the New Factory’s Operation: Nine distinguished guests—including Mao Chaoyin, Chairman of the CPPCC Committee of Nanchuan District, Chongqing; Jin Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nanchuan District Party Committee, Deputy District Mayor of the District Government, and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Industrial Park; Liu Jie, Secretary-General of the China Coatings Industry Association; and Chen Yun, Chairman of Tuoyu Coatings—jointly participated in the ceremony. As colorful ribbons fluttered in the air, it marked the official launch of Tuoyu Coatings’ production operations.

This celebration marks not only a milestone for Tuoyu Coatings but also a crucial step forward in the development strategy of Tuoyu—Yilong. With the commissioning of the new factory’s 50,000-ton-per-year eco-friendly coatings project, the company will deepen its service offerings to sectors such as automotive and motorcycle manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, and new energy, thereby establishing itself as a locally-rooted coatings brand in the Southwest region.
